FEAR OF MEN INTO STRANGENESS

Veteran TMR tips Fear of Men have long harboured a fascination with darkness, whilst sonically remaining fairly light on their feet. However, the Brighton-based band's first new music in over years is a fittingly-titled jump into new musical territory. Combining haunting saxophone flourishes with dramatic piano chords and waining guitars, harsh broken beats and dirgy synth bass sit starkly against vocalist and songwriter Jessica Weiss' comparatively airy vocals. Retaining their monochrome aesthetic, the video for 'Into Strangeness' was directed by the band in collaboration with Mikael Johansson. Subtly channelling The Blair Witch Project vibes and mild nods to the occult, it's the perfect accompaniment to Fear of Men's uncanny new sound. -Holly Mullineaux
